Understanding world

15 August 1947, A new country was born, with his unique challenges and advantages. When India was growing its economic and increasing its military power, The world was looking towards making new alliances after wasting half a decade in deadly war.

Two global powers of the time was helping every other country and making as many friends aka allies they can. The Soviet Union was on the side of India whereas Pakistan was backed by USA . 

These allies or international friends help each other to increase there economy and power. For example Soviets help India with his technology of space science and nuclear power, on the other hand India became the biggest market for there wepons and technically advance aircrafts and missiles . And it was the same story on the other page of the book where Pakistan was getting huge military support from the US. 

But in 1990's things began to change. After decades old cold war between USSR & US, finally Soviet Union collapsed, and this made Russia the largest part of the USSR far behind the only remaining super power in the world, The USA. 

This incidence had a dramatic impact all over the globe, specially to the allies of the superpowers.

 By this time India was capable enough to stand on its own and was developing on a relatively slower but steady pace. And it was the time when another super power was waking, it was China a then manufacturing hub of the world. China was exporting almost everything to almost every country on the planet.

Entry of this new player in the room changed the way world diplomacy and the way international relations was going. Formal allies of both US & USSR are now more interested in China than them. This began a new era of rivalry between US and the China , and this was the time when India and US started seeing each other like potential allies to counter the common rival China. From Indo-US nuclear deal to joint military exercises, and increase in military trade between these nations started a new chapter in there friendship. The same was happening on the other side of the door as well where China and Pakistan were becoming all weather allies and increased there economic and military cooperation.

This change in the relationship between countries, will impact the whole world and will be known as The Power Shift of the century.
